Our commitment to food safety and traceability
When we opened our new salmon facility on Ellingsøya, one of our top priorities was to ensure we deliver high-quality seafood from day one.
We are proud to share that several important certifications and approvals are officially in place. Launching a new production line means starting from scratch, not only in equipment, but in the systems behind it. New species and new processes require their own inspections, approvals and risk assessments. Over the past year, our quality team has worked intensively to develop everything from hygiene procedures and training programs to detailed control plans.
- Being part of building our quality system, routines and guidelines from the ground up has been both exciting and incredibly rewarding, says our Quality Manager Silje F. Aarseth.
This work has now resulted in several new certifications and approvals:
FSSC 22000 certification for our new salmon factory
This internationally recognized food safety standard confirms that we have the right prerequisites, routines and controls in place, from raw material intake to finished product. It also highlights the efforts to ensure strong hygiene practices and thorough employee training across the production line.
Approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority
Every new product and production line requires its own inspection. Our salmon production now has full approval, meaning all processes meet strict national requirements for safe food handling.
ASC and GlobalG.A.P. Chain of Custody certifications
These certifications guarantee full traceability for our farmed salmon from the source all the way to the final product. For our customers, this means they can purchase certified salmon with confidence, knowing it has been handled responsibly throughout the supply chain.
Why certifications matter
Certified products offer something essential in today's seafood industry: proof. Proof that food is produced safely, that traceability is documented and that the supply chain is responsible - from farm to finished product.
For us, it's also about doing things right for our employees, partners and the generations who will continue this work after us.
Looking ahead
With the new salmon factory up and running and the certification work in place, we are ready for the next chapter.
We look forward to supplying certified Norwegian salmon to customers around the world with the quality, transparency and care that have defined our company since 1962.
