Pacific cod stocks are currently regulated in the same way as in Norway, and Mathias Bjørge AS also ensures that the fish used in its products come from regulated and sustainable populations (MSC).
Mathias Salted and Dried Pacific Cod is a healthy, natural product. This is a high-quality product and the fish provides thick pieces with a mild flavour and good texture. This species of cod is particularly popular in Brazil. Mathias Salted and Dried Pacific Cod can be used in a multitude of ways and in many different dishes.
Processing
The fish is gutted and split and then matured to provide a rich and balanced flavour. The fish is then dried for 3 to 5 days depending on the size. After drying, the fish is stored at 0-4°C. The product receives a final inspection by our experienced workers before being packed and sold. Salt is the only additive in the product - no chemicals are added.
